Part of the Cayce Riverwalk, this popular walking and biking trail is located on the outskirts of Cayce and follows the west side of Congaree Creek. The concrete trail is suitable for pedestrians, bicycles, strollers, wheelchairs and roller skates. Be on the lookout for snakes, birds, possible alligators and other wildlife. At several points along the way, it’s possible to capture awesome photos of the creek. Although the trail is an easy hike, bug spray, water and first aid supplies are recommended. Dog friendly (please keep dog on a leash). Situated near Interstate 77 (I-77), the trail has to two trailheads: 1) northwest corner of Scana Parkway and the 12th Street Extension with a small parking lot and 2) on the southern end behind the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center at 1120 Fort Congaree Trail with parking and restrooms. Open daily dusk to dawn.
